Thanks to NOVELHUT for publicity. Background IPOH ICQ HQ (IIHQ) first made its appearance in the MyWeb Webmaster Awards contest on October 31, 1999 with only 2 members. Due to unforseen circumstances, all the IIHQ webpages on the MyWeb server were unable to be updated. In order to operate efficiently, IIHQ was set up at http://lightning.prohosting.com/~ipoh/ and reactivated on November 14, 1999. Since then, the membership enrolment of new members has been growing steadily. IIHQ was later moved to Yahoo! Geocities on August 31, 2000. the URL IIHQ uses the redirection service of http://iihq.cjb.net/ http://icqhq.cjb.net/ and http://ipohicqhq.cjb.net/ which will bring visitors to the actual location at http://iihq.tripod.com Short Description Run by the members themselves, the visionary community project creates both on- and offline presence for ICQ users in Kinta Valley. our Objectives - To form an active online community based in Ipoh - To bring a whole new experience to friend-making the Creator IIHQ is creator-founder Kiang Chen Lim's second effort in developing websites. (The first being FilMovie - Films & Movies) Kiang first thought of setting up a friend-making network because he realises that humans need friends. As an ICQ user living in Ipoh city, he found out that the instant messaging program, ICQ, was popular among local Internet users.
